How Do I Make Garlic Knots Without Eggs?

  • Add all ingredients (except garlic + parsley) to a large bowl. Mix well to combine the dough. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes, adding more flour if the dough is too sticky. Place the kneaded dough back into the bowl. Pour 1 tablespoon of the olive oil over the dough, and flip the dough to make sure it’s coated in the olive oil. Cover and let rest for 1 hour.
  • When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Divide the dough in half, and each of the halves into 8 pieces. This recipe makes 16 knots. Take the dough for one knot, and roll it into a 9 or 10 inch strip with your palms. Take the two ends of the dough: make a loop with one end, and feed the other end through the loop to make a knot. Like you’re completing the first step of tying your shoes. Place the knot on the baking sheet, and repeat until all the knots are tied.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven, and bake for 18-24 minutes until the garlic knots are golden brown on top. Remove from oven.
  • Brush each garlic knot with olive oil, raw garlic, and parsley. Enjoy!
