After 18 months of going bare-faced everywhere from fashion shoots to Paris Fashion Week, Pamela Anderson has agreed to front a 90s-style makeup campaign.

In the last year, Pamela hasn't failed to surprise us, first on the swearing-off from makeup to taking on a beauty brand based around sustainable skincare called Sonsie.

Pamela Anderson has signed up to the face of another 90s icon - Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, something that was much-loved here in Ireland for many years before the brand left our stores in September 2022.

The primer was not the first-ever primer available, but it was the one to revolutionise beauty in its price bracket and so it deserves its cult status.

To announce the makeup campaign, Pamela filmed this cute and funny ad with old friend Davis Factor, co-founder of Smashbox with brother Dean, both great-nephews of Max Factor who revolutionised beauty back in the day.

Pamela told Harpers Bazaar that she resonates with Smashbox and has known and respected Davis for a long time, and this is why she signed up for the job, her first makeup campaign in all of these years.

The brand has never had a celebrity face either, so it's a first for all involved. Sadly the iconic primer is going on sale with the Pamela Anderson collab in Ulta stores in the States but it's great to see the Baywatch star back in the makeup space.
